MY REASONING
Homelessness today is a unrecognized , problem.
And the reason why is because in the world today everyone is to focused on themselves and succeeding in this world and not focused enough on helping each other succeed in this world.
Homelessness today is a unrecognized, problem.
Recently during spring break 2016 I had the honor of participating in a girl’s camp, and the camps intension was to teach young girls about social justice and leadership.
We were asked to do a social project on homelessness, and this topic for me was right at home because I have had friends and family who suffered from homelessness and it really had a strong effect on me and my family.
This project I was unsure at first but the more I got into it and the more I thought about it I had realized that homelessness has affected me, my family and friends, my community and the economy.

Hello,
My name is Mahala and I’m 17 and going into my senior year of high school.
I’m an oldest child of 6, and I plan on being the first person in my immediate family to graduate from high school and go to college
to get a master’s degree.
I also hope to set the dream for my younger siblings that they can not only graduate from high school but also college.
I come from two amazing, hardworking and inspiring parents who taught me that the impossible is possible and that giving up is not an option in life.
I aspire to be an active member in my Colorado community by changing the stereo-types and hypocritical views of the people that come from these communities.
A HOUSE IS NOT A HOME.
