Homelessness today is a unrecognized , problem.
And the reason why is because in the world today everyone is to focused on themselves and succeeding in this world and not focused enough on helping each other succeed in this world.
Homelessness today is a unrecognized, problem.
Recently during spring break 2016 I had the honor of participating in a girl’s camp, and the camps intension was to teach young girls about social justice and leadership.
We were asked to do a social project on homelessness, and this topic for me was right at home because I have had friends and family who suffered from homelessness and it really had a strong effect on me and my family.
This project I was unsure at first but the more I got into it and the more I thought about it I had realized that homelessness has affected me, my family and friends, my community and the economy.
"I moved to colorado with my twin brother to pursue my dream of being an artist and acomplished my dream, now im in between homes and all i need is a meal".
"Iwas getting a divore and no longer could afford my home and upkeep of my pets plus my son, so I found my pets a temporary home and sacraficed my comfort, life style, and pride and slept in my car with my son- Now I pay rent to my room mae , have all my pets, and my son and i are slowly rebuilding our lives back up"
" I was mentally unstble to work , and child support wasnt enough".
"I came to do some work for a few days and my truck broke down, now im trying to save up for traveling expences".
" my landlord wanted the house back, and i couldnt find another one that fit my family and my budget".

My name is Mahala and I’m 17 and going into my senior year of high school.
I’m an oldest child of 6, and I plan on being the first person in my immediate family to graduate from high school and go to college
to get a master’s degree.
I also hope to set the dream for my younger siblings that they can not only graduate from high school but also college.
I come from two amazing, hardworking and inspiring parents who taught me that the impossible is possible and that giving up is not an option in life.
I aspire to be an active member in my Colorado community by changing the stereo-types and hypocritical views of the people that come from these communities.
A HOUSE IS NOT A HOME.
And my hopes are that this website, my web site will help better inturpret that to both people affected by homelessness and people who want to help people affected by homelessness .
